Settings Overview

Everything you can change about CuePoints lives in one window. Open it with CuePoints > Settings… (Cmd+,).

The window has a list down the left and the settings for whatever you clicked on the right. Pick a name on the left, change things on the right. There is no Save button, changes take effect straight away and are remembered next time you open CuePoints.

What's In The List

The list is split into two groups.

General: things about the way you work.

• CuePoints: how cues are made, named and shown while the show runs.

• Tracks: how tracks are numbered and what happens when you switch between them.

• Backup: automatic copies of your project, and crash reporting.

• Shortcuts: your keyboard keys.

Tools: things that talk to the outside world.

• Audio Output: which speakers or interface the sound comes out of, and which channels.

• Timecode: timecode coming in and timecode going out.

• OSC: network messages to and from lighting and media consoles.

• Overlay Editor: the text and graphics burnt onto your video output.

• Recording: the built-in video recorder.

• NDI: sending your video out over the network.

Restore Defaults

At the bottom of the list there is Restore Defaults. It puts the pane you are looking at back to how it came out of the box. It only touches that one pane, not the whole app.

Where Settings Are Kept

Settings belong to the app on this computer, not to a project. Open a different project and your settings stay as they were.

The exceptions are anything that describes the show, cue types, track names, overlay content, which is saved inside the project file so it travels with it.
