Export your cues to Adobe as XML markers on a sequence

CuePoints exports your cues to Adobe as XML, which becomes a sequence with your cues as markers.

File > Export…, set up the cue types and tracks as described in Exporting to Consoles, and press Export to Adobe XML.

One File Or Several

Individual File Per Track:

  • Off: one XML containing every selected cue type across every selected track.

  • On: one XML per track, each becoming its own sequence.

Premiere Pro

Drag the exported .xml file (or files) into the project bin. A new sequence appears for each one, with all your CuePoints on it as markers.

After Effects

After Effects can't import markers directly, so Premiere does the work in between:

  1. Drag the exported .xml file into a Premiere Pro project bin to create the sequence.

  2. Make sure the sequence is at an importable resolution, 1920x1080 is safe.

  3. Save the Premiere project.

  4. In After Effects, choose File > Import > Adobe Premiere Pro Project.

  5. Pick the saved project. The imported sequences carry your CuePoints.

Watch The Offset

This is the one that catches everybody. Cues export at their real timecode, offset included. A show running at 10:00:00:00 puts every cue ten hours down a timeline that starts at zero, so they look like they didn't import.

They did. Either scroll to where the timecode says they are, or set the sequence start timecode to match your track's offset before you look.
